Numbers to Names...

I had the pleasure of helping out at the "Numbers to Names Gala" put on by Compassion First in November 2009. What a wonderful event and life changing experience! The issue of sex-trafficking and child sex workers have been on my heart since I learned about it back in 2004. I have felt a strong passion to help fight this horrible act and do my part to support the people that are able to be in these countries working to rescue these women and children from sexual slavery. Compassion First is such a wonderful organization because it is 100% volunteer based. Anyone who has a heart for this cause and wants to make a difference can be a part of this wonderful group of people! They are so loving, kindhearted and work very hard to touch these people's lives by renewing their hope and giving them their lives back! Each and every women and child means something to them and they are not discouraged by the overwhelming numbers or intimidating brothel owners, but rather find strength in their belief that each human being is worth fighting for! I respect these people so much and think that they are truly led by God's hands to each and every women and child. They work together like a well oiled machine fueled by a heart of passion for these people's souls and self worth. Please watch this video (don't forget to pause the music at the bottom before watching) and spread the word. Please be patient, it may take a while to load.

As many of you already know, I make jewelry and donate a portion of the proceeds to Compassion First. As April (National Abuse Awareness Month), fast approaches, I want to take this opportunity to shed light on this cause and bring more awareness to what really goes on behind closed doors. I am currently in the process of designing a bracelet and necklace that you can purchase in April and 50% of all proceeds will be donated to Compassion First. I will soon be posting pictures and putting them for sale on my Etsy site, Glass Cocoon.
I feel so blessed to live in a country where women have more rights and respect. Please join Compassion First in giving these women a voice! God Bless!
